About the artist:
Although the subject matter of Conrad's paintings is either figures (sometimes under water) or a close up view of nature, her work creates another world, like our own, but a little more magical and vibrant. A few memento mori, like a dead leaf, a bird fossil or the way a figure breaks apart into pieces when submerged under water, remind the viewer of our ephemeral existence, which makes life resonate more profoundly.
