Nature journaling offers a calming way to observe and appreciate the wonders of the natural world, and no prior experience in art or science is needed to participate.

In this two-hour workshop, facilitated by Amy Faulkner - a nature-based educator with over 30 years of teaching experience and a certified California Naturalist - participants will explore various types of nature journals, engage in activities that blend art, writing, and observation, and experiment with watercolors to discover colors in nature.

This workshop is designed for all ages and encourages everyone to reconnect with the complexity and beauty of the natural world. Guided by Amy’s expertise and enthusiasm, participants will leave inspired and equipped to begin their own outdoor nature journaling practice.

About Amy Faulkner

A lifetime Marin resident, she has spent decades exploring the county’s trails and drawing inspiration from its landscapes. As an elementary school science teacher for more than 30 years, she has always been motivated by children’s curiosity about the natural world.

Now, she hopes to share that same sense of wonder and joy with people of all ages. Believing deeply in the healing power of nature, she offers classes designed to bring small groups, families, and friends together in experiences that are both educational and playful.
